I recently found two of the older Little Golden Books at a yard sale. Titles are The Lively Little Rabbit and The Animals of Farmer Jones. Unlike all the LGBs I have seen before with the gold foil spines, these two books have dark blue spines. Does this have any particular significance or were the blue spines just a precursor to the gold foil spines?

When the commemorative editions (for 50 years of LGB ) were printed, did any of them have the blue spines or dust jackets?
