I am trying to locate a book concerning a lonely little puppy who needs a home and is adopted by a boy. I cannot remember the title or the publisher's name. The cover shows a beagle-like dog with a background of the night and a falling star or shooting star. I remember the last page of the little boy carrying the dog into his home at night, and I believe the puppy is licking his face.
