Sorry to burst anyones bubble, but The Sailor Dog is not the same as Scuppers the Sea Dog.
I too remember it from my childhood. It was my favorite because I've always loved dogs & my
beloved older brothers were both in the Navy.This book dates back to the early 1950's & may
not have been new even then. I'd love to get a copy for my granddaughter.

Someone I love very much is searching for a book she was read as a child. This is all I have from her:
It was about Scupper the Sea Dog. He befriended a little boy and took him in. Scupper had a 2 story house, but it seemed lacking in things like a kitchen.
It would be absolutely wonderful if I could find this childhood book for her. It probably was in a book with a collection of other stories, so she has never found the title ... It is also possible she is mixing up several stories from that book, too :-(
Does anyone know what childrens story this is ? Was it part of some Golden Book collection ?
