looking for a title

I am looking for a little golden book about a little white cat that falls into a tub of blueing and turns blue. Any ideas?

It is a white cat that jumps into a paint bucket of blue paint. In the beginning of the book he has no friends but when he is blue he does until it rains.

I think the book you're looking for might be called Peppermint. It's about a little girl who gets a free kitten and wants to enter it in a contest and it falls into a tub of bluing.. ???
