I have been looking for a book from when I was a child from the 70's early 80's, I'm pretty sure I remember the gold binding. It's about two kids imitating adults and wearing grown-up clothes too big for them. I remember them sitting at a table with dolls or stuffed animals pretending they were the children. At the end I think you figure out that they were not grownups but children playing dress up. If anyone remembers this book and the title I would love to find it for my daughter. Thanks.
There's also a non-golden book that I remember called Treasure Trunk and a boy and a girl are playing dress up from a trunk, lots of costumes. I think this one was an Elf book?
