This is "Little Mommy" by Sharon Kane, c1967. The cover has a picture of a little girl in a rocking chair holding her three dolls. It starts out, "This is my house and I am the mommy. My children are Annabelle, Betsy, and Bonny". The page with the boy in the blue car says, "Billy is daddy; he works in the city. He has a new car. Isn't it pretty". I am also 34 and this was my favorite book. I am so lucky that my mother kept all my old books for me.
This was my absolute favorite when I was a little girl (I´m 34 now) and I MUST find a copy for my little girl. I´ve searched through lists of titles and can´t find any titles that jog my memory. I remember the little boy riding in a little blue car pretending to go to work and the little girl making food and taking care of a baby like mommy. I can´t picture the cover either.
