I'm looking for a Golden Book that I had as a child in the 1950s. I do not know the title, but it involved a father getting lost on Christmas Eve... in the forest, he visits a house where a jolly old man with a white beard lives. The old man is carving a rocking horse, among other toys.
The lost father goes home either with the rocking horse, or maybe it appears the next morning under the tree for the father's son.
I know this is vague... but does it sound familiar to anyone????
Thanks
Thomas
