Does anyone know of the book with the poem at the end:

Tell me mother, tell me why
Why do the birds fly in the sky
Why are grown up people tall
While Jean and John and I are small?

There is more but I cannot remember it.

Thanks!

I had this book as a child, with beautiful illustrations. I've been looking for a copy of it for years.

I believe some of the next lines are:

"Why is the snow white?
Why are my mittens red(?)?
Why is the sun hot?"

Then I can't remember the rest, except I believe the end goes something like:

"Little child, I'll tell you why
The Lord made the earth, and the sea, and the sky
Just as he made you and I"

Does any of that sound familiar?
