GOLDEN SHAPE BOOKS

 News
Soft covered shape books with die cut edges to mimic the cover art were first produced in 1964. They were first produced with a 29 cent price on the cover. They were later produced with 49, 59, 69 cent prices and then went to super shape books in 1987. Shape books were also produced in hard cover library editions without the die cut shape.Foreign language editions have also been found. Carry Me shape books have a die cut handle incorporated into the book design. They also have some with a string cord on the book for a handle.
Sturdy shape books were produced in 1980 on heavy coated pages.

The smallest shape books in my collection are called teeny tiny tales produced in 1965. They are similar in size to little little golden books. I have found them in sets of 8, 12 or 16. I do not know if they were sold seperately.
Shape books are easily found at very reasonable prices...good luck hunting!
